A controversial equaliser deep into stoppage time denied Hayes and Yeading United a deserved win as Camberley Town took advantage of indecision from the officials to claim a draw.

United started brightly and Curtis John-Cyrus's early throughball found Matt Sinclair in front of goal but he was unable to gain enough control to get a shot away. The first shot at goal, however, came from Camberley striker Bradley Timson who latched onto a loose ball from Alex Penny's tussle with Callum Keane but fired wide. United were quick to register their first effort on target after that, but Jack Doyle's low shot from outside the area was fielded comfortably by George Brighton.

As the first half developed, Matt Sinclair began to cause the home defence problems from his a attacking midfield position. After a foul on the pacy Ethan Grant, his free kick was well saved by Brighton and then Doyle found him with an intelligent little pass but he slotted the shot just wide under pressure from Brighton. He also laid James Taylor's free kick off for Colin Mugoya who blasted his shot over from ten yards.

On 37 minutes, Mugoya went much closer with a header from James Smith's free kick, but again, Brighton was comfortable in gathering it in. The half then went a bit scrappy up the break but right on half time, Sinclair again tested Brighton's handling with a drilled shot which the Camberley keeper caught.

The home side started the second half brightly and Josh Kempton latched onto a corner but Hugo Sobte was able to gather in the ricocheted effort. At the other end, Ross McKernan looped a ball over the home back line which Cyrus flicked on to Doyle, only for Brighton to smother his goalbound shot.

Camberley took the lead ten minutes into the half as Jamie Artaus latched onto Timson's throughball and beat Sobte with a well placed low shot. If it wasn't for Sobte's alertness, it would've been two in two minutes as he blocked Jake Wilson's close range volley. However, Sinclair was again influential in getting United the momentum back and his shot from Cyrus's layoff just cleared the crossbar. He then just failed to convert Doyle's fired in cross after good work from McKernan, saying the effort from point blank range.

The pressure was bound to tell eventually and did so in the last quarter of an hour. On 77 minutes, United equalised with a superb strike from Doyle. Collecting a long pass, he inside from the left, shaped to shoot but continued running along the 18 yard line before unleashing a shot back across the rooted Brighton and into the corner of the net. Then, seven minutes later, Mugoya connected with Smith's deep free kick to power a header into the net from close range.

However, Camberley had the last laugh as with Curtis John-Cyrus laying on the ground and clearly needing treatment, the home side played on and with the referee standing over him in the other half of the pitch, he strangely allowed the move to develop, culminating in a last minute volleyed equaliser from Dan McLennon into the top corner to their delight and United's players' and staff's clear dismay.
