Around 1,500 known players have played for Hayes FC 1st XI from its foundation as Botwell Mission in 1909 to the clubs merger with Yeading in May 2007. 

While every known player will be mentioned, the choice of who will be described in detail and who will be merely listed will be subjective and eclectic. Only those about whom there is something interesting to say will be described in detail.  After all, what can you say about someone who plays only once? Well, that depends. Some officials will be included, as they have played as big a part in putting Hayes on the football map as many of the players.

Just a few words of warning are due: statistics are for competitive matches only, and do not include friendlies; substitute appearances are unreliable; and some scorers and team line-ups have been lost in the mists of time.
