*** C *** Highly rated young centre back Tom Cadmore joined Yeading on a three-month loan from Wycombe Wanderers at the start of 2007 having been part of the first team squad at Adams Park that season having previously featured for the Wycombe Academy and Reserves. He made his Yeading debut off the bench in a league match at Salisbury City and then started a further nineteen matches in the second half of the 2006-07 season. Tom returned to Wycombe Wanderers, but must have impressed former Yeading manager Garry Haylock as he took him to Hayes & Yeading United, initially on loan, for the start of the 2007-08 season. Defender Chris Cahill started his career at Brook House and then moved to Hayes, where he played in the reserves but did not feature for the first team. Chris joined Yeading in September 2002 and made five starts in the 2002-03 season. Dudley (DJ) Campbell. Dudley Junior joined Yeading in February 2003 from Stevenage Borough, where he had picked up an FA Trophy runners-up medal. He made limited appearances in his first season with Yeading due to injury but having worked back to full fitness, DJ netted the Division Golden Boot with 33 league goals in season 2003/04 helping his side to the Ryman League Division One North title and himself to the club’s Player of the Year award. Enjoying his football at The Warren under mentor Johnson Hippolyte, Campbell began to attract notice of professional clubs with the kind of form that saw him star as a trainee with QPR and Aston Villa before spells with Chesham United and Billericay Town. The 2004/05 season saw DJ once again the major fear of defenders in the Ryman League and he just missed out on a successive golden boot, netting 24 times. However, success came in other forms with his goals, skill and team play helping Yeading to a treble-win of Ryman League, Middlesex Senior Challenge and Charity Cups. An historic FA cup run in which DJ netted seven times, saw Yeading narrowly defeated 2-0 by Premiership giants Newcastle United in the Third Round, a game broadcast live around the world to a TV audience of millions. After another Yeading FC player of the Year Award, DJ was a late replacement in the National Game XI squad for the Four Nations Tournament in Eire, and played the full 90 minutes of the opening game against the host country. With the award of Ryman League Player of the Year announced during his international duty, DJ arrived back home to much transfer speculation before signing for League One Brentford at the start of June 2005. He spent the 2005-06 season at Brentford, 2006-07 at Birmingham City and moved to Leicester City in the summer of 2007. During the 2009-10 season he spent time on-loan at Blackpool, Derby County and Blackpool (again) for whom he scored a hat-trick in the 2010 Championship play-off semi-final second leg and played in the final. He finally signed for Blackpool on transfer deadline day 2010 and scored 13 goals in 30 starts during their solitary Premier League season in 2010-11. In all for the Ding, DJ netted 83 times in just 112+6 appearances. Dean Canoville was a Perivale-born striker who was forced out of the full-time game through injury while at Plymouth Argyle. Prior to arriving at The Warren in the summer of 2004, Dean had also seen service with Millwall, Tooting & Mitcham United, Molesey, Chertsey Town, Welling United, Chesham United, Hampton & Richmond Borough, St Albans City, Aylesbury United and Walton & Hersham. Dean made one start and six substitute appearances in the 2004-05 season, and managed to score a solitary goal, but was hampered by a long-term Achilles injury. Goalkeeper Simon Chang as an 18-year-old broke into the Stevenage Borough squad that in 1997 managed a shock FA Cup third round draw against Newcastle United. He joined Edgware Town in the summer of 2001 and arrived at The Warren in January 2002 making 15 consecutive appearances for Yeading from August to October 2002. He joined Barton Rovers in August 2009, but was sent off in his first match against Stourport, and never returned to the club. ???? Charles . Started two matches for Yeading in the 2006-07 season, both in the Middlesex Charity Cup. Forward Chris Chase was originally on the books at Watford, and made just one substitute appearance for Yeading in the 2004-05 season. He moved to Dover Athletic in March 2006, appearing in their last eleven matches of the season, but was released in January 2007. He spent the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons at Wingate & Finchley. Highly regarded and experienced player David Clarke started his career at Notts County and subsequently played for Dover Athletic, Eastwood Town and Harrow Borough. He arrived at Yeading at the start of the 2003-04 season, having played for Kingstonian for the previous two seasons. A true professional whose attitude and commitment earned him the players player of the year award in his first season at The Warren. His display in the FA Cup 3rd round match against Newcastle United earned him special praise from then England manager Sven Goran Eriksson. Having scored 9 times in 104+9 games for the Ding, David also followed Johnson Hippolyte to Maidenhead United in October 2006 where injuries limited his on-the-field appearances. However, he continued his work with Maidenhead United as assistant coach. ???? Corey made a single start for Yeading in the Middlesex Charity Cup against Hanwell Town in March 2007. |
