A Hayes & Yeading side struck down with injuries and suspensions was given a good going over by local rivals Staines Town at the SKYex on Wednesday evening with a flurry of late goals for the visitors hitting a tiring United side hard.

An early effort apiece saw shots from Staines Town skipper Gabriel Piorkowski and United's Obagot Okello handled comfortably by the respective teams 'keepers and then a poor United clearance was pounced upon by Sam Smith only for his 20 yard effort to go wide of the post.

At the midway point in the first half another opening came and went for the visitors as a low ball in from the left found Liam Morris in space, under pressure from United's Renarldo Gordon, the Staines striker sliced his effort wide of the target.

Just a minute later a last ditch defensive effort from United kept the visitors at bay. Morris broke through but a heavy touch gave Gordon the chance to block his shot and when the ball rebounded back to Morris he squared it to Smith who saw his effort blocked away on the goalline by the legs of United 'keeper Joseph Powell.

Ten minutes from the break United's best opening this far came as the result of a poor Alfie Hyett backpass that went straight to United top scorer Stan Cargill who advanced towards goal only for his shot to be saved low down by George Wickens in the Swans goal.

Play immediately switched back to the other end and it was Powell's turn to keep the scoresheet blank, the United stopper going full stretch to tip over a fierce Nikola Kovacevic drive after good approach play by Piorkowski and Morris on the left set up the shooting chance.

The Swans took just seven minutes of the second period to take a deserved lead when Morris won possession on the right side before squaring the ball to an unmarked Nasim Regragui who tapped the ball past Powell from close range.

United immediately pushed ahead looking to draw level, Cargill had another shot saved by Wickens but the Swans stopper could do nothing to prevent a 62nd minute equaliser from Okello as he collectd a quick throw-in, moved inside and unleashed an unstoppable shot from 25 yards that flew into the top corner of the Swans net.

Both sides continued to push for another, Powell was out quickly to deny Regragui a second as Piorkowski fired the rebound over and at the other end Cargill was again put through, this time his effort from the edge of the box being deflected wide by a well timed Hyett challenge.

With just over fifteen minutes to go the visitors started an avalanche of goals against a tiring United back-line. First to find the net was Morris who broke away up the right flank before cutting inside to fire past Powell from just inside the box to give the Swans the lead.

Goals three to five all came in a five minute spell starting in the 83rd minute as Joshua Baddock collected the ball on thr right wing and shot from the corner of the box, Powell did well to push his initial effort out only for Stan Channell to pounce to force the ball home from close range. A couple of minutes later Channell had another as this time he himself raced up the right side before cutting in and looping shot beyond Powell and into the far corner.

This was quickly followed by a 25 yard Piorkowski strike that flew past Powell and in off the far post to wrap up a convincing victory for the Swans.
