A top of the table battle between Bedfont Sports and Hayes & Yeading United ended in stalemate although the visitors will rue the fact given a dominant second half display.

The first half was an even, cagey affair. United were the first to threaten when in the eighth minute, Ethan Grant centred low from the left wing and Harrison Livingstone capitalised on some hesitancy in the Bedfont back line only for his shot to be blocked by the home keeper's legs.

Six minutes later, two United corners in quick succession both produced near misses. First, George Harmes crossed deep for Grant whose header was deflected just wide, and then Callum Keane was inches wide with an unchallenged header.

Bedfont responded with some neat possession football which culminated in a shot to which Mo Otuyo reacted quickly to come out and block with his legs. Five minutes later, the same player was again called into action, first to charge down from a one on one situation and then to parry the speculative rebound effort and gather at the second attempt.

Bedfont were gaining the upper hand and a couple of dangerous crosses caused some consternation without ending up as a clear effort on goal. On the break, Deji Alabi threaded the ball through to Livingstone in the right channel but his rising shot found the side netting. Then just before the interval, Lucas Sinclair's corner found Keane at the far post but his looping header just cleared the crossbar. James Taylor also had time to attempt a header from Harmes's free kick but was just wide of the far post.

Tempers flared up at the start of the second half when the Bedfont left back appeared to hold Alabi down. After a flurry of bookings, Harmes's free kick deflected off the wall and bounced inches wide of the far post. United maintained the momentum and were winning a lot of free kicks as Bedfont struggled to contain the pacy forward play.

Another free kick a short while later was taken on by Livingstone but his effort was just wide of the right hand post. Then Taylor galloped down the left to chase a lost cause and sent over a great cross, but Grant misjudged his header and the ball went well wide. Just after Mushidi came on as a substitute, he too found Grant with a cross from the left. This time he was much closer but again wide of the right hand post.

United continued to dominate the second period and in the latter stages, a cleared corner was put back in to the area and Livingstone beat the home keeper to the ball and took it past him, but with defenders on the line and from a tight angle he was wayward with his shot. Then, in stoppage time, Mushidi and Livingstone combined in a one two with the former firing inches over the bar. It was to prove to be United's last chance and so a point apiece had to be settled for.
