Hayes & Yeading skipper Dylan Kearney bagged himself 5 goals against Ashford Town (Middlesex) as United netted their third under-18 9-0 victory of the season on Monday evening.

The tone was set as early as the third minute. Kearney and Matt Sinclair combined to send left-back Shamen Goswell away on the left, the defender pulling the ball back to Sinclair who fired across visiting ‘keeper Nick Bennett in to the far corner.

Bennett did well shortly after to push another Sinclair effort over the top before United doubled the lead on 22 minutes. Sinclair’s curled free-kick to the far post being helped past his own ‘keeper by Charlie Rose.

More good work on the left by Goswell saw him pick out Kearney in the middle, the skipper heading home his first of the evening while unmarked in the middle.

With the visitors lacking any real penetration, the ball was spending an inordinate amount of time in the Ashford half of the pitch. Bennett did well to palm a Kearney driven free-kick around the post and minutes later the same player twisted and turned his marker before seeing his shot just miss the target.

Just before the break it was four. Good work on the right by Jack Doyle saw him present Kearney with a simple tap in at the far post.

Their was to be no let up in the United pressure in the second half, taking nine minutes for number five to arrive. Good approach work from Doyle and Cole Brown saw the ball being fed to Sinclair who notched his second from the acutest of angles.

Just before the hour mark United ‘keeper Hugo Sobte had his first save to make, confidently catching a header from Ilia Perovic from a corner that had been earned when Harry Herdman’s shot was deflected in to the side netting.

United continued to push for more, Brown set up Doyle who was denied by Bennett who blocked his shot wide and then Brown won the ball on the left and crossed to Kearney who volleyed home from close range to complete his hat-trick.

Ten minutes later Kearney had four, a well worked corner picked out Oliver Pritchard on the edge of the box, his shot being deflected straight to Kearney who beat Bennett from close range.

Just three minutes later Kearney hit his fifth with the best of the knight, the striker receiving the ball with his back to goal, controlled it and hit a volley from 25 yards that flew in to the top corner.

With just 5 minutes remaining, Kearney almost had a personal sixth, his shot cannoning back off the post, the ball however was quickly back in the box and Doyle hit home United’s last and ninth of the evening.

Stoppage time saw the visitors almost spoil United’s defensive clean sheet as Sobte had to get down quickly to push an angled drive wide of the post.
