Hayes & Yeading's good run of away form came to an end at Wheatsheaf Park on a windy Saturday afternoon as the home side retained their 100% home start to the season when Troy Ferguson struck a winner just after the hour mark for the Swans.
The home side had a good amount of early possession without really getting near the United goal
and it was indeed the visitors who had the first effort on goal when Luke Williams chipped a free-kick into the Swans area to Jake Reid, the United striker's header being comfortably fielded by Kyle Merson in the home goal.
In The 22nd minute the home side took the
lead when Sanchez Ming's cross pinged around in the box before being collected by Bajram Pashaj with his back to goal, the Swans player turning and firing an unstoppable shot into the top corner of the United goal.
It took United just five minutes to bring the game level. Williams' free-kick was flicked on to Charlie Wassmer at the back of the box, his chip back into the danger area was hit somewhat tamely through a crowd by Dean Inman only to be touched home at the far post by Kelvin Bossman fresh back from serving his suspension.
Minutes later the woodwork appeared to come to the home sides rescue when Louie Soares' cross was collected by Tom Bird at the far post, his shot was touched onto the post by Merson with former United man Lewis Ferrell, and now the Swans skipper, clearing the loose ball away off the line.
Inman then headed another Williams free-kick wide before the woodwork came to the Swans rescue again on 36 minutes. Bossman sent Reid through with the strikers powerfully hit first time strike beating Merson only to cannon back off the crossbar before being hacked to safety.
The closing effort of the half saw Merson go down to save a low skimmer from Soares.
Despite United going in at the break in the ascendancy, it was
the home side who came out with more purpose in the second half, although once again this did take a while to get into gear.
Just before the hour mark a long ball forwards to Louie Theophanous saw the striker tease his way past Inman with some quick footwork before hitting a rasping drive from 25 yards that just cleared the United goal.
Minutes later the Swans were again in the lead. Ming fed the ball in from the right side to Pashaj, he worked space for a shot that Jaimez-Ruiz could only push out and Troy Ferguson reacted the quickest to fire home from close range to restore the hosts advantage.
Less than 60 seconds later Jaimez-Ruiz had to go full stretch to push away a Theophanous drive for a corner that was to come to nothing.
As the game reached the 90th minute the woodwork came to United's rescue this time as Pashaj fed the ball through to newly arrived substitute Erivaldo Felix who thumped his first touch of the ball past Jaimez-Ruiz only for it to strike the United crossbar and go over.
In fact it was not until the 4th minute of stoppage time that United troubled the Swans goal in the second half, Bird's corner from the right was headed into the mix by Wassmer with the ball just evading Adam Everitt's outstretched boot to drop into Merson's grateful arms.
