A three goal blast inside four minutes early in the first half put Hayes & Yeading en route to a crucial victory at Bromley that sees United pull further away from the drop following last weekends come from behind victory over Tonbridge.

The United joint management team made just one enforced change from last weeks side as John Goddard replaced the injured Tom Collins.

The visitors started like a steam train and could have taken a sixth minute lead when a Luke Williams corner neatly picked out Calum Butcher at the near post, his volley hitting the side netting of the Bromley goal.

The visiting red army didn't have long to wait though as just four minutes later United crafted one of the goals of the season. Milan Stojsavljevic threw the ball to Butcher, he advanced and found Daniel Wishart who raced between two Bromley players and picked out Williams on the left, he moved inside and picked out skipper Sam Cox who cut across his shot with the outside of his boot and watched as the ball flew into the top corner of Joe Welch's goal (below left).

Less than 60 seconds later the lead was doubled as the ball was sprayed wide to Wishart on the left side, he moved forwards into the box and hit a low shot that struck both Welch's legs as it crept between them and rolled over the line almost in slow motion.

Just sixty seconds later referee Crysell was pointing to the spot. After excellent approach play and a slide-rule pass from John Goddard found Kudus Oyenuga, the United striker was unceremoniously brought crashing to the ground by former Yeading FC defender Marlon Patterson, who earned a caution for the tackle. Oyenuga dusted himself off and coolly slotted the ball into the corner of Welch's net to give United a three goal cushion in just the 13th minute.

Two minutes later the home side created their first opening of the game when Jack Holland rose to meet a Ishmael Welsh free-kick but his far post header never looked like to trouble Stojsavljevic in the United goal. Just one minute later it was almost four for United as a deep Williams corner was met at the far post by Tom Cadmore, his downwards header being kept out by Welch's right boot.

We reached the midway point of the half and the Lilywhites carved out their best opening of the half, involving two former United players. Welch's long upfield punt being helped on by Pierre Joseph-Dubois to Elliott Buchanan, the striker being closed down quickly by Stojsavljevic and Cadmore who blocked his shot away for a corner that was to come to nothing.

United continued to make most of the running, Wishart beat off Patterson before leaving the ball to Oyenuga, his shot being blocked wide by Holland, this was quickly followed by a surge upfield by Butcher who fed Wishart who was denied by Welch.

Things got even worse for the home side two minutes before the break when a foul on Patterson by Wishart saw the defender raise his hands to Oyenuga's face and a second yellow card was pulled out by referee Crysell followed by the obligatory red and he was dismissed. Wishart also being cautioned after the melee had subsided.

Stoppage time saw another close call for the home side as Cadmore met another Williams corner, this time his head back into the six yard box was headed away a couple of yards from goal by Mike Jones.

With the man advantage on a pitch getting wetter and heavier as the game went on, it was no surprise that United continued to dominate in the second half. It was however the home side who forced the first opening as the impressive Holland met a free-kick at the far post, his knock down into the six yard box being dealt with and cleared by Cadmore.

Minutes later the United defence were again under pressure as Sanchez Ming fed the ball in to Buchanan who was denied a clean strike by the attentions of Sankofa with Stojsavljevic sweeping up to avert the danger.

On the hour mark an impressive United attack down the right involving Williams, Sankofa and Goddard saw the ball worked inside to Oyenuga, his touch setting up Corcoran who was inches wide of the far post from 18 yards.

Corcoran was not to be denied though as just three minutes later after good defensive work from United to deny Joseph-Dubois, a Bromley corner was brought out from the United box by Goddard who fed a Sankofa forging ahead, the defender finding Corcoran who executed an exquisite lob from 20 yards out that drifted perfectly over Welch's outstretched hand to give United a four goal advantage.

Minutes later two more red cards came from referee Crysell's pocket. Ming lunged into Mark Bentley leaving a nasty wound on the United man's shin but with the red card almost out of the pocket, Bentley saw another kind of red and lashed out at Ming leaving the referee with little option but to dismiss both players.

Needless to say chances continued to flow for United to the final whistle. Goddard beat the wall from just outside the area with a free-kick, Welch pushed the ball as far as Cox but was quick enough to block away the United skipper's effort. The corner was played short to Corcoran who picked out Julian Owusu-Bekoe at the far post but his header was wide of the target.

In the final minute two United substitutes both had a crack at number five, Adam Everiss broke away free only for Welch to palm his shot in the air, the follow up being struck weakly by Owusu-Bekoe and Welch gathered.
