After a slow start both teams started to play some good passing football and it was Hampton & Richmond Borough who took an early lead on eight minutes. Good work from the Beavers Isaac Joseph saw him shoot powerfully past debutant Hayes & Yeading keeper Joshua Birksfield.
United started to wake up and dominate the game after going behind but we let ourselves down a little with some poor finishing.
Hayes & Yeading did however equalise on 19 minutes with Ryan Simpson and Riquel Samuels combining well before the latter fired past the despairing dive of Beavers keeper Alex Larson.
United started the brighter of the two sides at the start of the second half and less than a minute in almost took the lead as Lewis Cole's centre was headed against the upright by Isaac Osei-Tutu. United continued to up the tempo of the game with chance's coming thick and fast, it was not until the 80th minute though that the visitors took the lead, courtesy of debutant and man of the match, Flavio Tavares, the United man cutting inside from the right before shooting left footed into the bottom corner of the net.
Within two minutes of the restart it was 3-1. Simpson picked the ball up in midfield and hit a shot from fully 30 yards that screamed past Larson into the roof of the net, to give United deserved breathing space and three points.
