Hayes & Yeading United were ruthless in underlining the gulf in quality between the two sides at Rectory Meadows, despite the best efforts from Hanworth Villa.

In fact, it took just 20 seconds for United to take the lead in what might be the quickest ever goal in a FEDO match. Nicke Kabamba raced through on goal and although Lukasz Swait smothered his shot, Dale Woodford precisely placed the ball into the open goal from thirty yards away.

George Isaac thought he’d added a second on eight minutes when Kabamba’s low centre was converted, but from an offside position. However, a minute later, Woodford was the beneficiary of an identical move, this time from an onside position, and the lead was doubled.

Villa got a goal back when a long pass deceived Bilal Khan in the United goal and Rinok Sopjani tapped the ball into the empty net. Having survived a one on one attempt from Isaac who fired his shot wide from a good position, and buoyed by their goal, The Villains almost equalised as Declan Peters forced Cameron Gilmartin to block his low shot and Sopjani pounced on the rebound only to find his shot parried by Khan.

A quick breakaway goal set United’s ball rolling again. Isaac placed a measured pass beyond the home defence and Leo Cunningham raced through to score with a neat finish.

This signalled a flurry of goals before the break as a Joel Jacobs clearance was seized upon by Isaac and a quick exchange with Cunningham put him clear on goal. This time he showed more composure by dribbling past Swait and tapping the ball in. Then Kabamba got on the scoresheet, rifling home the rebound after Jacobs free kick was fumbled by Swait.

Gilmartin headed a Callum Chickah corner over early in the second half but it wasn’t long before United scored again, Isaac latched onto Cunningham’s pass and although his first shot was blocked by Swait, his second was much more straightforward.

In the 55th minute, Isaac (pictured above) completed his hat-trick and scored United’s seventh when Chickah crossed and full back Scott Hastings slipped, allowing Isaac all the time he needed to calmly place the ball into the far corner.

Swait saved from Gilmartin and Cunningham, as well as seeing Chickah’s rising shot just miss the target. However, it was to become 8-1 on 72 minutes when Isaac claimed his fourth goal, the best of the night. A free-kick deep in their own half was taken short by Bobby Cumber to Cunningham who passed to Woodford. The United attacker found Chickah in space who cut the ball back into the path of Isaac’s diagonal run and he slotted the ball home for a wonderful team goal.

Full back Jay Middleton almost got in on the scoring act, but Swait caught his fierce long range shot. However, United were to make it 9-1 with five minutes remaining as substitute Ashley Parker was fouled in the area by Ryan Wood and Dale Woodford (pictured right) coolly converted the penalty to claim his hat-trick.

In the final minute, Chickah got his team into double figures with a close range finish after Connor Cumber’s cross was played back across goal by Parker.

In truth, the scoreline did reflect the gap in quality between the teams, although the effort and commitment of both sides remained high from start to finish, which is to the credit of both sets of players.
