Hayes & Yeading United 2
Fleet Town 4

A lacklustre display all round by Hayes & Yeading saw Simon East's side surrender their 100% league record against a lively and well drilled Fleet side for whom striker Leigh Penny hit an 11 minute hat-trick in the early part of the first half.

Both keeper's were in action in the first few minutes of an end to end game littered with defensive errors. First needed to keep the scoresheet blank was Fleet stopper Sinan Satlik who did well to gather a swerving effort from Cameron Gilmartin at the second attempt. Luke Daley at the other end was soon in the action too as the lively front pairing of Leigh Penny and Jake Beale combined and the latter's shot on the turn had to be turned around the post by the United number one.

The lead for the visitors was only seconds away sadly as a poor Daley goal-kick went straight to Penny who advanced and slid the ball into the corner of the United net. Another error three minutes later saw a long ball from defence chased by Penny, Leo Cunningham inexplicably touched the ball away from his on-coming keeper leaving Penny the simple chance of rolling the ball into the vacated United net.

Chances were coming thick and fast now as United chased the game. Cyrus Longdon-Hughes collected a Bobby Cumber pass on the left, outpaced Andrew Kennewell before seeing his shot from an extremely tight angle pushed away by Satlik. Minutes later the deficit was halved when Cunningham atoned for his earlier error by climbing highest to head home a Joel Jacobs free-kick.

It did not take long however for the visitors to reinstate their two goal advantage as Beale chipped through the United back line for Penny to run on and slot home to complete his hat-trick in just 11 minutes.

United were again fired up and started to pound the Fleet goal. Longdon-Hughes saw a near post drive blocked away by Satlik's legs and from the resultant corner Satlik was again required as he did well to push away a Gilmartin header. Next to be denied by Satlik was Nicke Kabamba whose 18 yard effort was acrobatically tipped over before a Jacobs cross finally beat the visiting keeper only to bounce off the inside of the post, hit Satlik on the back before being cleared away by a defender for a corner.

It was from a corner that United got a second as an errant hand was spotted by referee Collins and a spot kick awarded. Gilmartin stepped up and beat Satlik into the bottom corner.

The second half was not to live up to the first in terms of chances sadly. Connor Cumber went close in the early stages as his dipping effort just cleared the bar but it was the visitors who increased their advantage again as the United defence were caught square and a long punt upfield found William Gray who stroked the ball past Daley with ease.

Chances came and went for United and the longer things went on you could tell it was not our night. Substitute George Isaac chipped the ball neatly to Kabamba who saw his volley well saved by Satlik's trailing leg although next to go close were the visitors again as Daley went full stretch to tip over a Beale drive.

The 67th minute should have seen the deficit returned to one after excellent work from Longdon-Hughes on the left saw him pick out Kabamba but he screwed his shot wide from close range. Daley again kept the score down minutes later when a weak clearance fell to Alfie Lynch who forced a diving save from the United keeper.

After this game really fizzled out as United seemed to run out of steam while the visitors were more than happy to clear their lines as they had already done the hard work which saw them deservedly take the three points home to Hampshire.
