Barnet (Black) 0
Hayes & Yeading United 3

Hayes & Yeading’s under 18s scored a third consecutive victory as Barnet (Black) were beaten 3-0 at Hillingdon Borough's Middlesex Stadium on Thursday evening.

United started well and in just the fourth minute were denied by an excellent save from Barnet keeper Owen Humphrey. Cameron Gilmartin sprayed a free-kick to the far side of the area where an arriving Callum Chickah met the ball on the volley only to see his effort tipped over by Humphrey.

Humphrey could do little to stop United taking the lead just a minute later though when his own defender George Connolly turned a Cyrus Longdon-Hughes cross into his own net at the near post.

Having cleared a Barnet attack after a scramble in the United area, it was the visitors who doubled their tally on 22 minutes. Ashley Parker played a ball forwards that Nicke Kabamaba latched onto after Connolly appeared to miss-read the bounce on the dry dusty surface, the United striker coolly lobbing the ball over Humphrey and into the net on the bounce.

Kabamba almost netted a second less than a minute later, again Parker was the creator, his forward pass being headed on by a stooping Ryan Simpson but this time Kabamaba's effort was just off target.

Barnet's best move thus far saw Ifeanyi Allen embark on a mazy dribble in from the left wing, his final effort however was less than accurate and Luke Daley was not troubled. The home sides best chance came just after the half hour mark when the impressive full-back Devon Osei-Manyon crossed deep to Akins Obamakin who met the ball on the volley but saw it fly across the face of Daley's goal and wide of the far post.

Barnet were still putting pressure on the United goal and a vital interception from Adam Butler saw him force a Jordan Fincher shot wide of the United goal on 37 minutes.

United came out quickly again in the second half. Simpson's early corner was met by a towering Gilmartin but Humphrey held on, and then a minute later Simpson's pass saw Longdon-Hughes step over the ball leaving it for Kabamba whose smart turn left Jordan Odofin standing but his shot despite beating Humphrey came crashing back off the crossbar.

Daley then grabbed hold of an Allen free-kick before United extended their lead just after the hour mark. Longdon-Hughes slid the ball down the line to newly arrived substitute Dale Woodford, his cross being met perfectly on the volley by Leo Cunningham, giving Humphrey no chance.

United continued to dominate the chances as the game progressed with the two best ones falling to Cunningham. His first effort saw a dipping shot from 20 yards just miss the target and then with four minutes remaining he was played through on goal, Humphrey did well to block his initial effort and then in attempting to score a Barnet defender hit the ball against the United man but it went agonisingly wide of the target.
