Hayes & Yeading United 6
Hampton & Richmond B. 3

With United guaranteed third place in the table Simon East's side took the chance to finish their home campaign with a comfortable victory against Hampton at Church Road on Thursday evening.

Hayes & Yeading started the game well, taking the lead with just 7 minutes on the watch. Joint top scorer George Isaac
playing provider as a poked the ball forwards to Joakim Ehui who calmly placed the ball wide of keeper Alex Williams' reach.

Minutes later the visiting Beavers could have been back level when a long upfield punt found Oli Perkins but he appeared to delay his effort, giving Alex Tokarczyk the chance to save comfortably.

On 14 minutes Mark Goodman was to increase the lead with the first of his subsequent hat-trick. Cyrus Longdon-Hughes made space down the left before picking out his opposite wingman at the near post where he coolly side-footed home from four yards.

With United two ahead and in the ascendancy it was almost three when Williams needed two grabs to hold onto a Joel Jacobs free-kick and then two minutes later it was three. Josh Christopher sending Goodman through on goal, he required a single touch before striking past Williams.

The last action of the half saw Perkins test Tokarczyk from distance but the United stopper easily held the shot.

The start of the second half wasn't quite to script as the Beavers reduced the arrears to just a single goal within nine minutes of the re-start. First to beat Tokarczyk was Jamal Harvey who burst into the area on the right before firing into the far corner. Four minutes later it was the turn of Azeez Issah who latched onto an excellent crossfield pass before sliding the ball past Tokarczyk.

Just after the hour mark it could have got worse for United as Jamel Wojtczak fed Issah on the left, his shot thankfully was weak and Tokarczyk gathered. This let off seemed to be the final wake up call that United needed as within seconds the ball was at the other end, Ehui found Goodman on the edge of the area and he looped a shot over Williams and into the Hampton net to earn himself a well deserved hat-trick.

With ten minutes remaining United were indebted to centre-back Isaac Bonket who was well placed to block and clear a Perkins shot off the goal-line. United's fifth should have come almost immediately after when Ehui picked out substitute Ludovic Erhard unmarked in the six yard box but his effort appeared to hit his standing leg and loop wide.

The respite was short for Hampton though as just two minutes later Ehui found another substitute in the shape of Jamie Enver who advanced into the area before firing across Williams and in off the far post.

The scoring continued at pace, Perkins made it 5-3 when the ball was allowed to reach Beavers substitute Roger Rutana six yards from goal, his effort was well blocked by Tokarczyk only for the loose ball to provide Perkins with a tap-in.

Stoppage time saw United hit another, this time a goal from Isaac that saw him take pole position in the under 18 scoring charts as he moved inside from the left before slipping the ball under Williams' dive, much to the striker's obvious delight.
