Hayes and Yeading United fielded a number of trialists amongst reserves and a couple of first teamers for this second friendly in 24 hours, the visitors from North-West London scoring a single goal victory courtesy of Harry Hunt's second half strike.

United were first to get a sight of goal when Scott Orphanou crossed to the far post, the ball found it's way to Darrell Ellams but he had to stretch to get his shot away and it was too high to trouble Sam Tanner in the Hendon goal. Seconds later Ram Marwa tried his luck from the edge of the area but his shot was wide of the far post.

21 minutes had passed when Tanner finally had some work to do, reserve striker Henry Attu burst into the area and forced a sharp parry from the visiting stopper.

The midway point was a bit of a turning point as Hendon started to create openings of their own. Harry Hunt tried from 25 yards but was well off target before Glen Garner fed a neat ball through the United back line but former Hayes striker Peter Dean could only fire weakly at Chris Baker in the United goal.

Minutes later former Braintree man Wayne O'Sullivan burst into the United area only to be thwarted by Baker, the United keeper again in action as the half ended as he calmly caught a Garner shot from 18 yards.

The second half really saw very little attacking prowess from the home side and the visitors secured victory in the 54th minute when the ball was angled across the area to Hunt who beat Baker from a very acute angle at the far post. Hunt had also gone close minutes earlier when his first time drive escaped from Baker's grasp initially but he was quick to gather the loose ball.

Hendon then twice struck the woodwork, fifteen minutes from time a rasping drive by Kevin McLaren went wide off the upright and then a minute from time Garner tried his luck from distance and the ball went over off the top of the crossbar.

Just before the visitors hit the woodwork for the second time Jake Lovell appeared to be bundled over in the area but no whistle from the man in black was forthcoming.
