Half-Time: 0-2 Referee: Mr A Quelch

Hayes & Yeading United celebrated having clinched the Allied Counties League title the previous week with a demolition of Bisley Sports in an away fixture which was staged at their Church Road ground.

Within seconds, Nathan Webb crossed for Daniel Wishart who headed just over. Further chances fell to Josh Andrew and Charlie Wassmer but Ashley Scott was able to save both efforts. He then pulled off a particularly smart save from Joakim Ehui’s shot after good work from Wishart on the bye-line.

An Arran Walmsley free kick was held by Alex Tokarczyk in a rare Bisley attack, but in the 19th minute, United took the lead when Wishart broke clear of the defence and finished into the bottom corner.

For a while it seemed to be just Andrew v Scott with the Bisley keeper coming out on top each time. He also produced a great diving block to deny Ehui from close range. However, Andrew had the last laugh when he converted Reece Fleary’s cut back leaving Scott powerless to stop his shot.

A minute later, it was almost 3-0 when Scott blocked Andrew again and Ehui and Abdula Nsubuga both failed to convert the rebounds. Just before half time, Andrew fired just over after a neat exchange of passes with Ashley Barnes.

Nine minutes into the second half, United put the game out of Bisley’s reach when Webb showed neat footwork to get into the penalty area and his low centre was controlled by Andrew who created space before rolling the ball past Scott. A minute later, he just missed the far post with a shot having got in behind the home defence again.

Scott denied both Andrew and Wishart yet again saving their shots after once again, the Bisley defensive line let them through from the probing passes of Ludovic Erhard. However, there was a fortunate side to United’s fourth goal on 69 minutes as Scott Brookes sliced a clearance from Ashley Barnes’s corner into his own net.

Scott then produced a fine save to tip wide Wishart’s fierce shot but minutes later, Erhard and Andrew combined to tee up Wishart who found the bottom corner with his shot.

And it was 6-0 soon afterwards. Wishart beat Billy Turville on the left wing before an outside of the boot pass found substitute Mark Goodman in space in front of goal, and he finished emphatically.

Further good chances fell to substitute Dean Worman and Wishart, but Scott capped a fine personal performance with two more impressive saves.
