Hayes & Yeading United 1
Corinthian-Casuals 3

Hayes & Yeading United's under 18s side were defeated by a well drilled and determined Corinthian Casuals side.

The visitors took the lead when a corner was nodded back and the ball was volleyed into the top corner through a crowded six yard box.

However, United had some good chances to equalise before the break, first when Charlie Wassmer set Jake Lovell clear only for the keeper to produce a fine block and for the angle to be too tight for the rebound to be converted. Then, Josh Andrew got in front of goal after a mazy run but his shot took a deflection and rolled narrowly wide of the post.

A long free kick set up a goal to double the Casuals' lead thirteen minutes into the second half but United were soon back within one goal when Jamie Di Guiseppe curled in a fine free kick.

The home side really pressed hard for the equaliser, putting the Casuals' defence under a lot of pressure but with two minutes remaining, against the run of play they stretched their lead when Aga Brianidt was tackled whilst bringing the ball out of defeence and the ball was worked to the lively forward who finished neatly into the far corner.
