Half-Time: 0-1 Referee: M Worwood
With Manager Colin Davis away on his holidays, assistant Gary Marks took charge for this first game of the season in the Suburban Premier Division.

Whyteleafe did start the brighter although both sides looked a little rusty as you would expect. The home side had two chances to open the scoring early in the game, almost in similar fashion as through balls were played to the strikers who luckily for United found Adam Thomson in good form as he repelled both efforts.

United then started to get into their rhythm with the quick feet and the instrumental approach play of Rhys Price a key factor as they then started to dominate the game using incisive one and two touch football. This attacking play finally saw United break the deadlock on the stroke of half-time, a cross from Miles Jones was too long but was recovered by Anthony Lennon on the back post and his return set up a free header for Chris Lapierrre who duly put Hayes & Yeading United 1-0 up.

Hayes & Yeading dominated the game in the second half and but for poor finishing could of put it well out of reach.

Eventually United did increase their lead, in the 73rd minute Miles Jones picked up the ball on the wing and ran at the Whyteleafe defence before cutting inside and unleashing a 25 yard screamer that the stunned home keeper had no chance with, leaving him to fetch the ball out of the back of the net.
