A fairly strong United second string could only manage a draw at the Warren on Wednesday night thanks to a Michael Barima equaliser deep into stoppage time.

The visiting Stones, fielding familiar faces in the shape of Keita Karamoko, Andre Delisser and Ryan Ashe, took the lead after just six minutes when Zimzon Lelo was perfectly put through and coolly beat the advancing Adam Thomson, placing his shot into the bottom corner of the United net.

With first team gaffer Garry Haylock in charge while Colin Davis' suns himself on the other side of the world, it was surprising that the home side didn't prove much threat to the Stones goal throughout the game.

The surprise equaliser finally arrived as we entered the sixth minute of stoppage time at the end of the game. Substitute Jack Rooney did well to win possession on the left side of the halfway line before placing a perfect throughball into the path of Michael Barima who strode forwards and calmly slotted the ball past Karamoko in the Stones goal.
