Hayes & Yeading United 1
Uxbridge
1
Half-Time: 0-0 Referee: Mr J Lengthorn
This was a game where both defences dominated meaning chances were limited throughout as both keepers commanded there areas so the game was mainly in the midfield areas.

From the early exchanges it looked to be a game that had 0-0 written all over it and that's exactly how it stood at half time.

The second half was being played in a similar vein to the first half until we reached the hour mark. A speculative shot from 25 yards inadvertantly deflecting off the foot of Malachi Bulley as he tried to block, before looping over Kevin Davies and into the net off the underside of the bar to give the visitors the lead.

United tried to find a path through the Uxbridge defence which appeared to have possibly five first team players in their squad, but to no avail.

There were shots been taken from 25 and 30 yards that were just going wide and then for the last 20 minutes Hayes & Yeading United paired up the youngest forward line that I have ever seen as Hayes Reserve Secretary.

Both Jack Duhig and Harry Vaughan who were from Hayes Youth Under 16s last season were thrown into the fray. The game was still not going United's way but with some neat football a throughball from Rhys Price found Duhig on the edge of the box, he held it up, turned his defender and hit it on the volley over the head of the despairing Uxbridge keeper with 30 seconds left of the game to level the score at 1-1.
