Hayes and Yeading United's first ever fixture ended in a resounding victory with a commanding performance, especially in the second half.

United got off the mark after just ten minutes when a low Liam Collins centre was converted at the near post by new signing Simon Martin. Captain Nevin Saroya hit the cross bar with a delicately chipped free-kick whilst Staforde Palmer went close three times only to find his finishing was a little rusty.

After just three minutes of the second half Palmer did find the net when he latched onto a Will Hendry throughball, rounded the keeper and stroked the ball into the empty net.

Liam Collins then saw a volley saved before he set up James Edgerley who was also thwarted by the City keeper.

Edgerley set up Palmer to score the third from close range and with Guildford tiring as the temperature rose in the latter stages Simon Shepherd set up Josh Scott for the fourth with a drive into the top corner.

Hendry completed the scoring with the best strike of the game, Peter Collins slid the ball to him in midfield and he then curled it past the keeper into the far top corner of the net.
