Stephen Ashley was a tall defender who spent his formative years at The Warren, wearing the captain’s armband at a young age. Injuries (including a year long lay-off completed in February 2002) limited his appearances, but in 2002-03 he made 26 starts, before work commitments took him north of the border. On returning south he linked up with Chalfont Wasps in January 2006 and made 3 appearances before the end of the season, and another 10 in 2006-07.
